What is NTP
NTP strives for a TB-free Pakistan to reduce the prevalence of TB in the general population by 50% by 2025 compared to 2012 to achieve global access to standard TB care and zero TB deaths. Go Pakistan is the fifth heaviest country in the world. The annual prevalence, incidence, and deaths from TB per 100,000 population in Pakistan are 348, 276, and 34, respectively.
The National TB Control Program (NTP) was revived under the Ministry of Health after Pakistan declared TB a national emergency in 2001 and is currently working with the National Institutes of Health, Pakistan.
